A pair of beech chairs with natural woven rush seats, in a rustic French provincial / Louis XV-inspired style, dating to circa 1920–1940, with a height of 95 cm, width 44 cm, depth 38 cm, brown colour, origin France, in excellent condition and weighing about 8 kg.

Pair of beech-woven chairs – French rustic / Provençal style – 20th century
Charming pair of antique chairs in stained beech wood, with traditional natural straw seats braided.
The openwork backs are composed of three shaped rails, the top rail featuring a pretty carved floral motif.
The slightly curved uprights and the curved front feet add a lot of elegance to the whole.
The seats feature a beautiful traditional straw weaving done in four directions, forming a geometric pattern converging toward the center.
This type of construction is part of the tradition of regional French wicker-seated chairs.
Their silhouette echoes the vocabulary of rustic French furniture, in the Provençal and Louis XV taste, while probably dating from the first third / mid-20th century.
