A splendid miniature icon. The Entry of Christ into Jerusalem. Palm Sunday. An exceptionally finely painted 19th-century miniature travel icon. The icon displays masterful details characteristic of high-quality 19th-century miniature traditions from Palekh or Mstera. The golden edges are richly decorated with hand-punched floral motifs (kovsh style). The lower band bears a beautifully preserved Church Slavonic inscription: The Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem. In very good condition. Belgium private collection.
