Large cabinet-size baryte crystal cluster on matrix, weighing 760 g and measuring approximately 12 × 11 × 7 cm.
The specimen consists of numerous well-developed tabular baryte crystals with an attractive smoky brown to golden-brown colour. Several crystals show good translucency when viewed in natural light, together with characteristic stepped growth and textured crystal faces. The largest crystals reach several centimetres and form a dense, three-dimensional cluster on a contrasting ochre-brown matrix.
Particularly attractive are the overlapping and parallel-growth formations visible on several of the larger crystal faces.
Based on the crystal habit, colour and matrix, the specimen shows similarities to baryte specimens known from Peru. However, the exact locality is not documented and is therefore not stated as confirmed.
The specimen comes from an old Danish private mineral collection assembled over many years.
The specimen is in good overall condition for a natural mineral specimen of this size. Some minor contacts, edge wear and small imperfections are present, as visible in the photographs.
