A late Victorian folding lorgnette, circa 1900, with two circular lenses and an elegant elongated handle terminating in a finger ring. The handle is finely decorated with pierced and engraved detail.
The hinged mechanism allows the lenses to fold neatly together, with a pearl-set catch securing them in the closed position.
One lens has a small chip/loss at the edge adjacent to the frame, as shown in the photographs. The lens remains securely mounted. Further light wear and patination consistent with age and use.
