Raffinated and elegant hexagonal lantern, used as a night light or bedroom bedside lamp, a splendid example of artistic craftsmanship from the late 19th century (Napoleon III period), capable of housing candle wicks.
The object stands out for the extraordinary combination of three precious materials, worked with exquisite mastery:
• Structure and Shaft: Entirely made of bronzed brass with a magnificent original patina of the period. It features rich pierced decoration with foliate motifs and garlands on the upper and lower rims.
• Porcelain Detail: The central shaft is enriched by an elegant hand-painted porcelain insert with delicate floral motifs of roses and buds.
• The Glasses: All six sides mount their original period glass, splendidly acid-etched with geometric lattice motifs and decorative garlands, each different from the others.
The piece presents exceptional antique condition. The glass panels are all perfectly intact, with no runs or chips. The porcelain band is also in impeccable condition, with vivid hand-painted colors well preserved. Solid and stable construction with a beautiful patina of age. No alterations have been made.
