Description from the seller

Three haloed figures appear together, interpreted as the three angels sent by God. The figure on the left clearly has wings, a characteristic element of angelic representation. The figure who appears kneeling or leaning before them, on the right, would be Abraham, who reverently receives the visitors. The scene comes from the Genesis 18:1-15 account, where Abraham receives three mysterious visitors beside the Oak of Mamre. In Eastern iconographic tradition, these three angels are also interpreted as a prefiguration of the Holy Trinity. The metal frame decorated with blue cabochons and the style of the figures also suggest an ancient icon of Russian/Slavic tradition.
