Born in 1963, Frédéric Fontenoy has been working since his early series on the representation of the body, considering the photographic gesture as an artistic approach in itself. From Métamorphose in 1988, he plays with the reference to reality tied to this medium, and he readily refers to the distortions of André Kertész and to Hans Bellmer’s The Anatomy of the Image.
