Vintage wooden wall console – Organic mid-century form – 1960s

Atmospheric and specially designed wooden wall console from the 1960s, finished in a deep dark brown wood color with a warm reddish-brown undertone. The elongated, almost shield-shaped back plate tapers elegantly and gives the whole piece a pronounced sculptural look.

Halfway there is a semi-circular wall shelf, supported by a sober wooden console. Exactly this combination of functionality and organic design fits well within the mid-century interior tradition of the 1950s and 60s, in which wall furniture had to be compact, decorative and practical.
