Rotel - RCD-855 CD player

The Rotel RCD-855 is a legendary CD player that was released in 1989.

The player still enjoys a cult status among hi-fi enthusiasts and audiophiles because of its analog, warm and very musical sound quality. This distinctive character owes its existence to the excellent selection of internal components from that era.

Features:

Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC): The player uses the highly acclaimed Philips TDA1541A. This is a renowned 16-bit multi-bit DAC known for its smooth and 'vinyl-like' playback.
Transport (laser): Equipped with the very reliable Philips CDM-4/19 swing-arm mechanism. This type of transport is known for being extremely robust and reading CDs with ease.
Digital filter: Uses the Philips SAA7220P/B chip for 4x oversampling.
