Elegant French-made mantels clock from the late 19th century conceived in the Louis XV style with Paris mechanical movement and striking of hours and half-hours. It approaches the style of clockmaker Henri-Charles Balthasar, who worked at the court of King Louis XV of France.
This model features a superb gilded bronze case characterized by a curvilinear, violoncello-shaped silhouette. The ornamentation displays a profusion of vegetal motifs and punch-cut volutes, complemented by a lower cut-out beneath the dial, as well as a richly adorned upper finial in the shape of a vase. The hands are of a Louis XV pierced design on a white enamel porcelain dial with double numbering, protected by a glass-front door that can be opened, as can the rear door to inspect the machinery.
Its movement is Paris mechanical, guaranteeing a rhythmic chime for hours and half-hours. The clock is offered complete with its original accessories, including its pendulum and the winding key.
