Clock-peddler table clock - Schwarzwald - - Cast iron - 1930-1940

Characterful and heavy polychrome-painted cast-iron clock man (Uhrenträger), inspired by the historic Schwarzwälder clock sellers.
The figure is traditionally dressed in a coat with a top hat and carries a hand-painted shield-clock in front of him, with a second decorative clock shield on his back. The mechanism features a visible pendulum.
Includes the accompanying winding key.

Condition:
In good, authentic condition with a beautiful old patina and characteristic light lacquer and paint wear appropriate for its age.
The clock runs well.
NOTE:
Currently only one of the two hands is missing (the large or the small hand).
