Martin Parr - Be Bold With Bananas [Signed] - 2015

The original Be Bold with Bananas was a South African Banana Board promotional cookbook from the 1970s, containing banana recipes and photographs. Parr encountered the publication and was immediately attracted to its strange combination of sexual undertones, surreal imagery and the deliberately ambiguous title.

For the 2015 Salon Verlag project, Parr appropriated the original book and added his own photograph to the cover. The result deliberately preserves the eccentric visual language of the original while turning it into an artist's book.
