Art Nouveau silver-plated WMF liqueur set, model no. 231, dating from circa 1910, comprising a tall liqueur decanter with stopper, two small liqueur glasses with silver-plated bases, and a shaped serving tray, all in good condition with age-related wear.
Description from the seller
Beautiful and complete Art Nouveau / Jugendstil liqueur set by WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik), Geislingen, Germany, dating from circa 1910.
The set has been identified as WMF model no. 231 and consists of:
* one tall glass liqueur decanter with silver-plated mount and handle
* the original stopper
* two matching small liqueur glasses with silver-plated bases
* the original shaped serving tray
The design is a particularly elegant example of German Jugendstil. The silver-plated metalwork of the decanter is decorated with pronounced flowing floral motifs and characteristic organic whiplash lines. The tall clear glass body features delicate engraved decoration that follows the flowing lines of the metalwork.
The matching tray has an elegant undulating outline with typical Art Nouveau decoration and recessed areas for the decanter and two glasses.
The set bears WMF factory markings, including the characteristic WMF ostrich mark and I/O silver-plating mark. The tray is numbered 231.

Model: 231
Period: circa 1910
Style: Art Nouveau / Jugendstil
Materials: silver-plated metal and clear decorated glass

The set is in good antique condition considering its age, with normal signs of use and ageing to the silver-plated surfaces and glass. These traces are consistent with an authentic object more than a century old and contribute to its character.
The glass and metalwork should be carefully examined in the photographs, which form an integral part of the description.
