Salampasu mask with brass fittings, seeds, and round braided balls made from palm leaf strips / Kongo. The Salampasu, in the southwest of the Kongo, had a warrior federation, the 'Ibuku Society'. Within this 'Ibuku Alliance' dances took place, and the ordinary members wore such powerful 'Kasungu masks'.
