Description from the seller
Toilette table with mirror, dating to the second half of the 19th century.
Elegant wooden dressing table, attribuible by stylistic and construction features to the second half of the 19th century.
The structure presents a central tortile (twisted) column on a tripod base, detachable because screwed; the upper shaped top with incised decorations and a decorative metal figural appliqué. There is a front drawer with an ornamental handle; the interior preserves a lining in decorated paper with a floral/lily motif. The upper part is completed by a rectangular mirror supported by two turned uprights.
Dimensions: height 146 cm, width 50 cm, depth 40 cm.
The item is overall in good condition for its age and retains a pleasant patina. Normal signs of wear with time and use are present, including scratches and small finish imperfections. The interior paper lining inside the drawer shows some stains.
The two decorative upper knobs are present and intact, but are loosening/partially detached at the fixing point and need to be repositioned and fixed, as clearly shown in the photographs.
The drawer opens regularly and is equipped with a decorative handle; there is no lock. No maker’s marks or signatures were identified.
