Description from the seller
Miss.Tic, born Radhia Novat on February 20, 1956 in Paris, France, was a pioneering figure in the world of street art.
Known for her evocative and poetic stencils, she left an indelible mark on the urban landscape of Paris and beyond.
Having grown up in the culturally vibrant neighborhood of Montmartre, she was influenced by the artistic environment around her, which ultimately led her to embrace an artistic career.
In the early 1980s, she spent several years in California, soaking up the punk scenes in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Upon returning to Paris, she began creating her drawings on the walls of neighborhoods such as Ménilmontant, Montmartre, the Marais, Montorgueil, and Butte-aux-Cailles.
Thirty years of creation
In 1985, Miss Tic began to leave her mark on the walls of Paris.
From fences to backdrops, from vacant lots to soul-stirring waves, from lawsuits for vandalism to public commissions, her work has withstood the test of time.
This volume revisits thirty years of creation by an artist rooted in her era, an Amazon of urban art who worked to make art accessible to all by abolishing the boundary between exhibition space and artwork.
A visual artist and poet, with audacity and perseverance, she became the indispensable and iconic figure of the street art scene. Miss Tic reveals, for this “anniversary” book, unseen images. Between confidences and outspoken outbursts, she looks back, remembers, and speaks of her learning years, doubts, and enthusiasm... Along the way you meet other artists, fellow travelers. There you find her art, diverse and varied, revealing a living and engaged creation.
Miss Tic is one of the legends of urban art in France and internationally, alongside: Invader, Jef Aerosol, VHILS, Banksy, Blek Le Rat, Fanakapan, Orlinski, Mr Brainwash, Speedy Graphito, Swoon, Faith47, Obey, Durix, RNST, JR, PichiAvo, RoamCouch, Onemizer, Goin, Kaws, Keith Haring, Basquiat.
