Marwal - Sculpture, Majestueux chat persan aux yeux bleus - 55 cm - Ceramic

Important decorative sculpture representing a seated Persian cat, crafted in glazed ceramic.

This piece stands out for its imposing dimensions, its very fine work modeling the fur and especially its large azure blue eyes, particularly expressive.

The ceramic presents an ivory tint enhanced by light gray tones in the hollows, which accentuates the relief and gives great depth to the fur work.

The body is hollow and the open base reveals a reddish clay paste. No signature or manufacturer mark was found.

In style, proportions and decorative treatment, this sculpture evokes Italian productions from the second half of the 20th century, probably around the 1960s-1980s, without definite attribution.

A very decorative piece, full of presence, ideal in a large entry, a living room, a library or to complete a collection devoted to felines.
