Champagne cooler, Champagne bucket, wine cooler, bucket, seau, cooler, ice bucket, wine cooler.

Lovely vintage champagne cooler, made for the house Moët et Chandon, in Épernay.

This cooler is decorated all around with relief grape clusters/vines and also with the engraved text:
"MOËT & CHANDON Fondé en 1743".
Both sides are identically engraved, the sides equipped with rings that serve as handles.

The bottom is stamped by the maker, MOD MEAUX ARGIT Made in France.
Argit is an authority in champagne cooler design and supplies almost all the major houses.

M.O.D. stands for Metaux Ouvres et Decores, originally since 1926 a manufacturer of furniture fittings in Meaux.
After trying to diversify production, it produced silverware and the ARGIT brand was acquired, the well-known maker of silver champagne coolers

The cooler is in very good condition and is still perfectly usable.
Very popular among collectors.
