Rare medieval kidney dagger with preserved wooden hilt
For sale is a characteristic kidney dagger (ballock dagger) in good preserved condition.
The hilt consists of wood and is still fully preserved, two cross marks on the blade inlaid with copper, a cross with a small flaw. The pommel is pyramid-shaped.
The quillon shows on both sides an upstanding, arm-like stretched ends. This distinctive form gives the dagger a particularly typical and expressive appearance.
The blade is of the slim and robust shape typical for kidney daggers. With a length of 33 cm, an attractive collectible for friends of medieval bladed weapons and historical daggers.
