Description from the seller

International numismatic lottery 37 pieces – Swiss silver, Czechoslovakia, world coins and Shell tokens

Large numismatic and collectible lot composed of 37 pieces, including international coins, medals, civil acknowledgments, advertising tokens and tokens, predominantly from the 20th century, with a few samples from the early 2000s.

The lot gathers material from numerous countries and presents a significant variety of types, metals, shapes, eras and collecting fields.

Part 1 – Acknowledgments of Socialist Czechoslovakia

There are two acknowledgments dedicated to the Veľký Krtíš district, dating to the second half of the 20th century.

Both bear the inscription:

“Za zásluhy o výstavbu okresu Veľký Krtíš”

translatable as “For meritorious service in the development/construction of the Veľký Krtíš district.”

On the opposite side is the legend relating to local bodies OV KSS and ONV Veľký Krtíš, connected to the district structures of the Slovak Communist Party and the local administration of the era.

The group includes a large bronze-plated metal medal/plaque of about 60 mm and a portable medal of about 31–32 mm, complete with upper bar and pin.

The two pieces share the same industrial and agricultural iconography and constitute an interesting coordinated set of memorabilia from socialist Czechoslovakia.

Part 2 – Swiss silver coins

Two Swiss coins in 835‰ silver are included, both with the mint mark B – Bern:

• 2 Francs 1944 B, Helvetia standing, nominal weight 10 g;
• 1/2 Franc 1963 B, Helvetia standing, nominal weight 2.5 g.

The two coins have circulated and show patina and normal signs of use compatible with their age.

Part 3 – International coins

The lot also includes a wide assortment of circulated coins from different countries, including Germany, Turkey, Hong Kong, Norway, Barbados, Romania, Greece, Mexico, Peru, French Polynesia and other geographic areas.

Among the pieces identifiable in the photographs are, among others:

• 500 Turkish Lira 1989;
• 5 Deutsche Mark – Federal Republic of Germany;
• 2 Hong Kong Dollars 1994;
• 25 Cents Barbados;
• 1 Krone Norway 1998;
• 50 Yeni Kuruş Turkey 2005;
• 100 Francs French Polynesia;
• 5000 Romanian Leu;
• additional European and non-European coins.

There are items in different alloys and shapes, including bimetal coins.

Part 4 – Shell tokens dedicated to aviation history

The lot also includes an interesting group of 4 Shell promotional tokens/medals dedicated to the history and pioneers of aviation.

Among the readable pieces in the photographs are:

• Alcock & Brown – 1919;
• Heinkel He 178 – 1939;
• Wilbur & Orville Wright – 1903;
• another piece belonging to the same series, in more oxidized/worn condition.

The reverse sides feature the characteristic Shell logo.

Part 5 – Tokens, generic tokens and other pieces

The lot is completed by several commercial, promotional and service tokens, tokens of different shapes and other items from various origins.

There are pieces with different characteristics and conditions of preservation, some easily readable and others more worn or of uncertain attribution.

Conditions

The lot is offered as a whole and in the exact state visible in the photographs.

Conditions vary depending on each piece. Natural patina, oxidations, discolorations, scratches, signs of circulation and use are present and, on some pieces, more evident oxidation or corrosion phenomena.

No cleaning or polishing has been carried out by the seller.

Total: 37 pieces.

A particularly varied and transversal lot, interesting for collectors of world numismatics, Swiss silver coinage, memorabilia of socialist Czechoslovakia, Shell aviation-dedicated tokens, exonumia and vintage tokens.
