Elegant antique French silver-plated serving dish by Morlot, Marseille, dating to circa 1890–1920, in an Antique Belle Époque / Louis XV–Rococo Revival style.

Elegant antique French silver-plated serving dish / table centrepiece by Morlot, Marseille, dating approximately to 1890–1920.
The dish features a beautifully shaped body with two ornate handles and four sculptural scrolling feet. The deep central bowl is surrounded by particularly attractive finely worked feather/foliate relief decoration, while the centre bears an elegant engraved monogram.
The underside is clearly stamped MORLOT, together with the maker’s punch. Morlot is documented as an orfèvre in Marseille, with surviving examples of the firm’s silver-plated tableware appearing at French auctions.
A substantial and highly decorative example of French Belle Époque / Louis XV–Rococo Revival tableware, retaining an attractive aged patina and signs of use consistent with its age.
