Tchubi: Khal Mohammadi and Afghan Aqche are two of the most popular types of Afghan carpets.
Khal Mohammadi carpets are hand-knotted by the Turkmen of northern Afghanistan. Their main colors are deep red tones in their various shades. The motifs are the göl (a motif resembling an elephant’s foot) and the octagon (an eight-sided figure), often accompanied by stylized flowers in dark blue, ochre, and beige. Afghan carpets are hand-knotted by the Turkmen from central and northern Afghanistan.
