Description from the seller
Indian/Pakistani Antique Silver Red Agate Horse Reversible Signature Ring
This is a vintage, handcrafted antique silver reversible signature ring from India/Pakistan (primarily Balochistan and Rajasthan). It belongs to the traditional Central and South Asian signature jewelry category, and reversible designs with an intaglio galloping horse motif are relatively rare on the market.
Main Stone: Natural Red Chalcedony (Red Agate)
Selected from wine-red red chalcedony, its high hardness makes it suitable for intaglio carving. The stone face is carved inwards with a galloping horse design. In ancient times, wax/clay could be used to press the stone, resulting in a raised galloping horse—a core function of ancient signatures.
Ring Setting: Hand-forged Antique Silver
The antique silver is not modern standardized 925 silver; it is locally smelted and forged silver. The ring band shows signs of hand-filing, and the silver surface has a patina from years of oxidation.
Galloping horse: symbolizing power, freedom, victory, and protection. In Mughal culture and Baloch tribal tradition, the horse is a noble and auspicious totem. In ancient times, nobles and tribal leaders often used such seals as personal tokens and sealing certificates.
