Large paten in vermeil – Paul Brunet – Paris, circa 1920
Large paten in sterling silver, vermeil, adorned at its center with a rich engraved design representing the Lamb of God (Agnus Dei), nimbate and bearing the cruciform banner.
The design is surrounded by the Latin inscription « AGNUS DEI – PANIS VIVUS », alluding to Christ as the Lamb of God and the Living Bread, with reference to the Eucharist.
French workmanship, Paris, circa 1920, bearing the Minerva first assay mark (silver 950/1000) as well as the mark attributed to the Parisian silversmith Paul Brunet.
Diameter: 15 cm
Weight: 97 g
Good overall condition with signs of use, scratches from handling, localized wear to the vermeil and some light deformations, visible in the photographs.
