Description from the seller

Two large church candlesticks from circa 1940 to 1950, executed in Dutch Art Deco style with influences from the Amsterdam School.

The candlesticks have a heavy and architectural design, with wide bell-shaped bases, bowl-shaped candle holders, and decorative brass details. The dark patinated metal forms a striking contrast with the gold-colored accents. The design recalls the metalwork of Jan Eisenloeffel. This is a stylistic attribution and not an official provenance.

On each candlestick stands a large decorative candle. These candles are hollowed at the top so a smaller candle can be placed inside and replaced. Without a candle, each candlestick is 45 cm tall. With the large candle, the total height is approximately 107 cm. There is also a platform on which you can place an extra candle in the candlestick.

Both candlesticks have a nice aged patina and normal signs of use, appropriate to their age and ecclesiastical origin. The candlesticks are offered as a set of two.
