Splendid and rare pair of vintage table lamps (abajour) dating from the mid-20th century (roughly 1950s/1960s), of refined Italian craftsmanship. The central stems, characterized by an elegant and classic line, are made from carved natural green onyx, with warm and unique veins for each piece. All metal finishes (the stepped circular base, decorative collars, and the upper holder ring) are in solid 800 silver, finely chased and worked with geometric motifs, beading, and leaf details. The upper ring features the decorative curved arms originally designed to support glass dome shades. Fine provenance: The lamps bear under the blue velvet base the original paper label of the historic and exclusive jewelry/silverware shop “Ugo Ghiraldin” of Padua (Via S. Francesco 38), active since 1950. The old five-digit phone number on the sticker confirms its era. Hallmarks and Makers: The upper ring clearly shows the Italian silver hallmarks: the “800” hallmark enclosed in an oval (metal purity) and the manufacturer’s polygonal mark. Light bulbs included. Conditions: Excellent vintage condition. The onyx is intact, without runs or deep cracks.
