Description from the seller
Beautiful set of two vintage Japanese kitchen knives, consisting of a nakiri and a deba. Both knives have an authentic, well-loved appearance and are equipped with Japanese characters/markings. The combination of traditional wooden handles and characterful steel makes this an attractive set for both use and collection.
The nakiri has a total length of about 31 cm and features the characteristic broad, rectangular blade. This Japanese vegetable knife is particularly suited for finely and efficiently slicing and chopping vegetables. The knife has a wooden handle with a black ferrule and a decorative brand mark on the handle.
The deba has a total length of about 30 cm and has a sturdy, wide blade with a pointed tip. This traditional Japanese blade type is mainly used for processing and filleting fish. The wooden handle is fitted with a brass-colored ferrule and Japanese markings.
Both knives are sharp and in used vintage condition. On the blades there are clear signs of age and use, including patina, discoloration and local oxidation, appropriate to their age and authentic character. A beautiful set for lovers of traditional Japanese culinary tools and vintage knives.
