Ornate Antique Victorian Rim Lock & Key – Sargent & Co. Model 3784 – c. 1890
A striking fully restored antique American Victorian rim lock by Sargent & Co., New Haven, Connecticut. The heavy cast-iron case features an exceptionally ornate Eastlake / Aesthetic Movement faceplate with scrolling foliate decoration in crisp relief.
The interior is clearly marked “SARGENT & CO.” and “3784”. The lock has been fully restored, cleaned and serviced, with the mechanism brought back to working condition while retaining its authentic antique character.
Complete with its matching antique barrel-bit skeleton key. A substantial and highly decorative example of late 19th-century architectural hardware, ideal for a period door, restoration project or collection.
