Description from the seller

This is a breathtaking piece of history from 1890. We’re talking about a genuine, antique cultural treasure of over 135 years old. Based on the purely numerical serial number 9733045 it can be traced that this machine rolled off the line sometime in 1890.

What makes this machine extra special:
Model & Decals: It is the iconic Improved Family (the precursor to the famous Model 27/28) with its distinctive graceful, wavy 'fiddle-base' baseplate. The machine is adorned with the rare and beloved Marguerite (daisies) decal pattern, giving the machine a beautiful Victorian look.
Local Dutch Heritage: Unique is the original copper plaque from 't Naaimachinehuis C.J. v. Nieuwkerk & Zn. at H.v. Viandenstraat 20 in Amersfoort. A fantastic piece of Dutch shop history that precisely shows where this machine was once proudly purchased.
Complete with Cover: The sewing machine is equipped with its authentic, original wooden cover and comes with an extra bobbin. The underside of the shuttle shows proudly the early American patent dates, dating back to 1878.
Runs very smoothly!

Construction year: 1890 (136 years old)
Origin: USA / Great Britain
Operation: Manual (treadle)
Extras: Original round bobbin case, bobbin, and original wooden cover
Condition: Excellent antique condition, mechanically very smoothly running
