Every book from this first edition is hand-numbered by photographer Roy Ensink himself, a quiet signature that makes this copy unrepeatable. Of the original run of 300, more than half have already found their way into private collections. What remains grows scarcer with every sale.

Façades become patterns, structures become compositions, and the familiar suddenly turns strange. In both colour and black and white, captured through Roy's lens as he searches for what most people overlook.

Graphic Architecture Photography did not simply launch either. It premiered. On the night of its release, Roy staged Form in Motion (Vorm in Beweging), a live theatre experience built entirely around this body of work: the photographs projected large, set to music, woven into a spoken story that turned still architecture into something an audience felt rather than just looked at. What lives quietly on paper in this book stood, for one evening, in motion, given rhythm and space in a room full of photographers, architects, designers and collectors. It was there, that same night, that this first edition was signed and numbered, copy by copy. Owning one means owning more than a book. It means owning the object at the centre of the night it began.

ABOUT ROY ENSINK

Roy works under the name Roykes Art. His expertise has reached national television: on NPO's De Nieuwe Vermeer, he supported painter Nard Kwast with research into perspective and light, drawing a direct line between seventeenth century painting and contemporary photography. His work has been shown as a guest exhibitor at ETC Design Center in Culemborg, a meeting point for the Netherlands' leading interior, architecture and design professionals, and a large scale commissioned piece, Verbinding, now hangs permanently at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Roy has put his own work up for auction before. Most recently, he donated a series of pieces to a charity livestream for KWF, the Dutch cancer research fund, raising over €1,000 for the cause. Graphic Architecture Photography is where it all started: the body of work that first asked what a city looks like when you stop documenting it and start abstracting it instead.
