Lot of 3 historical papal medals from the Papal States.

1. Alexander VIII, 1690, year I of the pontificate.
Bronze medal by Giovanni Ortolani, commemorating victories over the Turks and the liberation of the Morea.
Reference: Miselli 269 / Voltolina 1089.

2. Benedict XIII, 1729, year VI.
Papal year medal on the occasion of the canonization of Saint John of Nepomuk.
Reverse with the inscription “APOTHEOSIS IN LATERANO.”
Engraver: Ermenegildo Hamerani.
Reference: Bartolotti E729 / Miselli 227.

3. Pius VII, 1820.
Papal year medal commemorating the discovery and official identification of the body of Saint Francis of Assisi.
Engraver: Giuseppe Girometti.
Reference: Patrignani 107 / Bertuzzi 159.

All three medals are historical collectibles and not legal tender.

The medals show normal signs of aging and wear and have an attractive aged patina.
