Overview

The Technics SL-10 is a legendary vintage direct-drive turntable introduced in 1979.

Featuring an innovative linear tracking tonearm and a compact, record-jacket-sized design, the SL-10 represents one of Technics’ most distinctive and advanced turntables of its era.

This particular unit has undergone careful maintenance and servicing, with important mechanical and electrical components inspected and refreshed. It has also been fully tested and confirmed to be operational.

Maintenance & Service

The following maintenance has been carried out:

* The original tracking mechanism belt was replaced with an equivalent belt manufactured by Bando Chemical.
* Switches were disassembled and thoroughly cleaned.
* The easily deteriorated original incandescent “grain-of-wheat” bulbs were replaced with warm-white LEDs, carefully selected to maintain an appearance close to the original illumination.
* Gears, pulleys, sliding shafts and other parts of the linear tracking mechanism were cleaned with alcohol.
* Fresh grease was applied to the appropriate mechanical components.
* The linear tracking mechanism was carefully serviced to ensure smooth operation.

These maintenance procedures are especially important for vintage SL-10 units, as the tracking mechanism and original components can deteriorate with age.

Cartridge & Stylus

The turntable is equipped with a genuine Technics EPC-P202C cartridge.

The stylus has been replaced with a brand-new stylus featuring an aluminum cantilever.
