Dreamlike Antique WMF Jugendstil Offering Tray – Historic Ostrich Mark (c. 1900–1918)
For sale is an exceptionally rare, original serving tray (Tafelaufsatz) from the renowned WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) from the heyday of Jugendstil.
Special highlight – The historic stamp:
On the underside there is the coveted, historic WMF ostrich mark (Ostrich in the standing rhombus with the local letter “G” for Geislingen) from the production period approx. 1900 to 1918. Complemented by the additional stamp “B”, which denotes the high-quality base made of Britannia metal (Britannia cast), which was subsequently finely silver-plated.
• Manufacturer: WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik)
• Era: Jugendstil / Art Déco (approx. 1900–1918)
• Design: Dynamic, floral stand with two elegantly shaped handles and delicate relief decorations on the sides.
• Glass insert: Original, perfectly preserved insert made of thick-walled crystal glass with a fine shell-wave rim and a magnificent star-cut on the basin bottom.
• Dimensions: Width: approx. 38 cm (handle to handle) | Height: approx. 12 cm | Depth: approx. 11 cm
• Condition: Beautiful, age-appropriate antique condition. The glass is completely intact without chips, flaking, or cracks. The silver-plated frame bears a noble, historic patina that perfectly underlines the piece’s great age and authenticity.
