Description from the seller

Elegant chinoiserie writing desk with matching chair, finished in distressed black and deep red lacquer.

The desk features a beautiful hand-painted Asian landscape across the top, depicting mountains, traditional buildings, trees and figures in gold, bronze and muted red tones. A removable glass panel protects the painted surface.

Designed in a European Louis XV/Queen Anne-inspired style, the desk stands on graceful cabriole legs and contains seven practical drawers with decorative brass handles. The matching chair has a curved chinoiserie-style frame and red patterned upholstered seat.

Approximate dimensions:
Width: 140 cm
Depth: 80 cm
Height: approximately 79–80 cm

The desk is believed to date from the late 20th century and was likely made in Asia for the European decorative-furniture market. Manufacturer unknown.

In good decorative and functional condition, with scratches, surface marks, lacquer wear and distressed areas consistent with age and use. Some of the visible red colouring around the edges is part of the original intentionally aged finish. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form part of the condition description.

A highly decorative statement piece, suitable as a writing desk, executive desk, dressing table or elegant console.

Desk, matching chair and protective glass top are included.
