Elegant Chinese porcelain glazed and polychrome painted potiche in the Famille Rose / fencai tradition, dating to the late 19th century.
The body, globular in shape with a rounded shoulder, features a refined figural decoration depicting a Chinese lady in traditional dress within a garden, surrounded by ornamental rocks, trees, flowers, insects and vegetation.
On the opposite side there is a hand-painted Chinese calligraphic inscription, accompanied by a red seal, in a decorative typology in which painting and calligraphy form a single composition.
On the bottom is visible a blue underglaze mark, partly worn and difficult to read.
Particularly interesting is the presence, near the neck, of an old wax-seal, evidence of the collecting history and/or subsequent checking of the object.
