The Olympus Pen D, launched in 1962, was the upmarket flagship of Yoshihisa Maitani's celebrated half-frame Pen line, yielding 72 shots from a single 36-exposure roll. It carries a beautifully sharp six-element F.Zuiko 32mm f/1.9 lens, the fastest fitted to any Pen, behind a Copal X leaf shutter that runs to 1/500 second. An uncoupled selenium meter aids exposure, while the ultra-compact body embodies Maitani's goal of a high-quality camera small enough to carry anywhere. It is a much-loved classic among half-frame enthusiasts.

Finder: Cleaned internally.
Lens / Sensor: Clear — no haze, fungus or scratches.

Functional
The shutter and film transport work.
The uncoupled selenium meter responds to light but reads about 2.5 stops bright (+2.6 EV at EV12, +2.5 EV at EV15) — see Known Issues. The meter is only a guide; exposure is set manually.
The light seals have been replaced and the viewfinder cleaned internally.

Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 2.6 OVER / EV15: 2.5 OVER
Some of these deviations exceed what negative film can absorb — please read the Known Issues section and allow for them when shooting.

Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Light seals (foam) replaced
- Viewfinder cleaned internally

Known Issues
1. The selenium meter reads about 2.5 stops bright. Use an external meter or the Sunny-16 rule for accurate exposure.

We ship via either FedEx or Japan Post (ePacket), whichever suits the destination and the parcel. With Japan Post your package is handed over to the local postal carrier in your country for final delivery.

Parcels are shipped DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid): import VAT and any customs duties are collected by customs or the carrier on delivery, in accordance with the rules of the destination country.
