Description from the seller
HIGHLIGHTS:
• Sought-after Austin-Healey 100-Six BN6 Roadster from 1958
• Characteristic two-tone red and black color scheme, paired with an original red leather interior
• Powerful inline six-cylinder engine paired with a manual transmission and recently refreshed suspension
• Equipped with a black fabric convertible top, side screens, and well-presented chrome work
• Supplied with French registration documents (carte grise) and an odometer reading of 20,582 miles
HISTORY & OVERVIEW:
The Austin-Healey 100-Six was introduced in 1956 as the successor to the four-cylinder Austin-Healey 100, marking the arrival of the beloved six-cylinder BMC C-Series engine within the 'Big Healey' family. While the BN4 offered a 2+2 seating configuration, Donald Healey introduced in 1958 the purist BN6: a bona fide two-seater with a sleeker rear line that remains highly sought after today among enthusiasts and collectors of classic British sports cars. This particular example dates from 1958 and is finished in a classic red-and-black color scheme with red leather. The car comes with French registration documents and has an odometer reading of 20,582 miles.
EXTERIOR:
The bodywork is in good condition with neat panel gaps and a red-and-black two-tone paint finish. The paint shows light signs of use, fine scratches, and stone chips consistent with regular use. The chassis and floorpan are solid; in the past, some skilled repairs have been carried out on the chassis. The chrome bumpers, grille, and trim are in very well-kept condition with a nice shine. The black manually operated fabric convertible top is neat and complete. The car is supplied with the accompanying loose side screens.
INTERIOR:
The interior features original red leather seats that provide a stylish contrast with the bodywork. The leather upholstery shows normal wear and patina, without tears or serious damage. The dashboard, classic steering wheel, and the instruments present themselves in a neat, well-kept state.
ENGINE AND MECHANICS:
Under the hood lies the 2.6-liter inline six-cylinder petrol engine paired with a manual transmission. The engine starts readily in both cold and warm conditions, runs smoothly and the transmission shifts cleanly. The brakes, clutch, and drive belts are in good condition and the suspension has recently been renewed. There is a minimal oil leak between the engine and the transmission. Due to the lack of a complete maintenance history, it is advised to perform a major service before regular use.
DOCUMENTS:
The vehicle is supplied with the original French registration papers (carte grise). A few separate maintenance invoices are also present (not a full maintenance history).
The car can be viewed and collected in Hooglede, Belgium. It is recommended to view the vehicle before placing a bid to avoid disappointment. To arrange an appointment, please contact Catawiki. Bids are exclusive of transport and export unless stated otherwise. Arranging transport, ownership transfer, and any export documents or registration costs are the responsibility of the buyer.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
