Oviraptorid Dinosaur Egg – Visible Eggshell - Fossilised egg - 15 cm - 8 cm

Impressive fossil dinosaur egg attributed to an oviraptorid theropod, originating from China and dating from the Late Cretaceous, approximately 70–80 million years ago.

The specimen preserves numerous areas of original fossilized eggshell clearly visible across the surface. Several sections display the characteristic elongated shell ornamentation associated with elongatoolithid eggs, the egg type traditionally linked with oviraptorid dinosaurs.

The contrasting reddish-brown matrix makes the darker fossil eggshell particularly easy to observe. Different shell fragments can be seen around the specimen, including several larger sections where the original surface texture remains clearly recognizable.

Oviraptorids were feathered theropod dinosaurs that lived throughout Asia during the Cretaceous. Discoveries of adults associated with nests and eggs have provided some of the most important evidence concerning dinosaur nesting and parental behaviour.
