Here is a fascinating and rare vintage stereoscopic camera: the Murer Stereo Special, manufactured in Italy by the prestigious Murer & Duroni of Milan in the early 1910s. This refined early-century photographic instrument represents a splendid testimony to the Italian optical-mechanical industry, designed specifically to capture three-dimensional images thanks to its coupled dual-lens system.

Optics: The camera is equipped with its original pair of stereoscopic lenses mounted at the front. The lenses are structurally intact and retain their historical charm; a physiological presence of internal dust and minor superficial hazing due to the passage of time is evident, entirely normal for a piece from this era.

Mechanics: The overall mechanical operation has not been verified for all its time-related components. The central stereoscopic shutter and the corresponding metal levers for triggering and selecting speeds on the left front plate operate manually, but the accuracy of speeds and full synchronization have not been tested. The inner bellows extension system moves along the guides.

Aesthetics: Good overall condition, as clearly documented by the photographs. The wooden body covered in black leatherette shows the typical signs of time, with light surface abrasions and small localized detachments of the covering along the edges. The metallic parts and brass/steel levers display a natural antique patina that emphasizes its historical authenticity.
