Its mechanical design typically included a central steel mast, suspended weighing pans, a leveling system with three adjustable legs, and was housed within an elegant glass case or display cabinet to prevent drafts from affecting the weighing.

In the late 1950s and throughout the 1960s, the manufacturer began replacing the classic wooden display cases with cast iron structures and lacquered steel sheets (usually in a characteristic textured gray, olive green, or hammered blue). Esta pieza fue fabricada en Barcelona por Balanzas Cobos, una firma histórica española fundada a principios del siglo XX, sumamente célebre en el ámbito farmacéutico, médico y de laboratorios por la excelencia de sus mecanismos. El modelo corresponde a la Serie ME, introducida específicamente a partir de la orden ministerial del Boletín Oficial del Estado del 16 de septiembre de 1957.
Su diseño mecánico solía incluir un mástil central de acero, platillos suspendidos, un sistema de nivelación con tres patas regulables, y se resguardaba dentro de una elegante urna o vitrina y cristales para evitar que las corrientes de aire alteraran el pesaje.

A finales de los años 50 y durante los 60, el fabricante comenzó a sustituir las clásicas vitrinas de madera por estructuras de hierro fundido y chapas de acero lacadas (habitualmente en un característico tono gris texturizado, verde oliva o azul martilleado). Este cambio buscaba una mayor robustez y estabilidad frente a los cambios de temperatura de los laboratorios.

Las "ventanillas redondas" en los cristales laterales son una excelente señal de calidad: se llaman ventanas de manipulación. Permitían al operario introducir las pinzas para colocar las pesas ligeras en los platillos sin tener que abrir la puerta frontal por completo, evitando así que las corrientes de aire desestabilizaran la balanza.

El producto es bastante delicado y el envío es peligroso, es muy frágil y no me arriesgo o me hago cargo de la empresa de envío y su manipulación, eso corre a cargo del comprador. El producto está en Sevilla por si facilita su recogida.
