Republic period (1912-1949)

This is a Chinese carved jadeite figure of Magu (the Immortal Maiden) with crane, fitted with an antique carved hardwood stand.
The figure is finely carved in white jadeite with attractive emerald green patches on the floral sprig and crane’s head. Faint lavender (mauve/violet) hue can be seen on the back of the robe and skirt. She holds a flowering branch beside a crane, a classic motif for Magu, symbolising longevity.

Condition Report
The jadeite carving is intact with no visible cracks, chips or restorations. Minor age-related surface wear consistent with handling over time. Polishing remains good. The fitted hardwood stand is deeply pierced and carved with traditional scroll patterns; it has minor age wear and slight patina, no major damage. Faint natural lavender tone present at the rear skirt area.
