Up for auction is a beautiful piece of digital audio history: a vintage Sony CDP-70 Compact Disc Player, manufactured in Japan during the pioneering era of the format (1985–1986). This early-generation unit is highly prized by audiophiles and collectors for its robust build quality and its distinct, warm, and analogue-like sonic presentation.
