Description from the seller
Set of 11 glasses in a tall cylindrical shape for juice or long drinks (known as the tumbler or highball type), made of 24% lead crystal and handcrafted. Produced by Germany’s historic crystal maker Nachtmann in the 1980s, a German luxury crystal company founded in 1834 in Bavaria by glassmaker Michael Nachtmann. It simply used paper or metallized adhesive labels (which over time with washing have disappeared). Cut with cross-hatch, fan, and star. Condition: Discontinued. Examining the glass, the upper part features a smooth, straight edge, followed just below by deep vertical cuts in the shape of palm leaves that create a crown motif slanting upward. The central band is characterized by large interlaced diamond (lozenge) geometric motifs. Within these spaces are elaborate star cuts (brilliant cuts or multi-point stars) and, in the lower part of the band, a dense geometric micro-diamond cross-hatch pattern. It ends with a very thick and heavy full-crystal base, cut with wide vertical facets (column cut or panel cut), which serves as a solid pedestal and gives stability and luster to the entire object. Dimensions: height 16.2 cm x diameter 7.2 cm.
