"Sakkas, porteurs d'eau" (water carriers), a very beautiful vintage albumen print from the period, large format, in very good condition, with preserved contrasts, grey tones and levels of detail ranging from TB to TTB, by Emile Bechard (rare for sale).
Mounted on a thin cardboard backing, signed and captioned at the bottom of the print, in the negative.
Rare subject, not staged, in action.

Emile Béchard was a French photographer active in Cairo from the late 1860s to the 1880s, specializing in views of Egypt and oriental types.
