Circa 1900, 22x28 cm.
"Souks de Biskra", a very beautiful vintage silver print toned with selenium salts (warm color shift), large format, in very good condition with preserved contrasts, gray tones and levels of detail from TTB to Superb, by Alexandre Bougault.
The value of this print lies in the fact that it has not been mounted on a page of an album or on cardboard support, which is rare.
Signed with a dry seal at the bottom right of the print.
Deserves framing.
Will be shipped with its neutral pH sleeve (ideal for a collection in good condition).
Settled in Biskra at the end of the 19th century, Alexandre Bougault opened a workshop there in the heart of an oasis then very frequented by European travelers. He develops a local production mixing portraits, religious figures and scenes of everyday life.
