Bonbon basket (2) - .800 silver - Small jar with a bow

Typology: Small bowl/dish for a table set (tip cup, candy holder).
Material: Silver with hallmark 800/1000 (alloy composed of 80% pure silver and 20% copper).
Manufacturer/Manufacture: Argenteria Luigi Calegaro (Padua, Italy).
Stamps present: 800 impressed in free field (attesting the metal’s fineness). 4 PD inserted inside a simple lozenge without fasces (identifying mark of the Calegaro firm).
Era of production: Postwar period, precisely datable between 1944 and 1968.
Style: Classic / Italian Art Deco with a wavy-outline oval edge. The body rests on small hollow-cast feet.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The structure shows no deformations or breakages. There is a natural and widespread superficial oxidation (dark patina), concentrated especially on the edges and near the hallmarks, removable with a light polish if a mirror finish is desired.

Style: Italian mid-20th-century Modern era, characterized by a figurative and elegant “sachet” or “parcel” design, finished with a knotted cord tied in a bow relief on the constriction.
Stamps: Hallmark “800” inside an oval at the bottom of the vase. Manufacturer’s mark impressed in a lozenge with cut sides, containing the province abbreviation TV (Treviso), attributed to the historic production of Argenteria Schiavon (1944–1968 period).

Condition: Excellent. The structure shows no deformations or deep dents. A normal surface patina from atmospheric oxidation is present on the base and in the recesses of the bow, with the silversmith’s hallmark partially impressed but identifiable.
