Balda Jubilette Analogue camera

Here is a splendid and compact pocket camera from the trombone-focal era: the Balda Jubilette, produced in Germany by Balda-Werk of Dresden in 1938. This refined folding model was specifically made to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the prestigious German maker Balda.

The lot is presented in good overall condition, with normal signs of use and conservation consistent with the age of the object, and it is complete with its original vintage brown leather protective case shaped for the camera.

Optics: The camera is equipped with an original fixed-barrel lens mounted in the center of the optical group. The lens elements appear in good visual condition, clean and completely free of scratches or traces of mold and internal fungus. Metric indications present.

Mechanical: The original vintage Deckel München Compur mechanical shutter responds to commands and fires regularly at the various speeds selectable via the outer perimeter dial. The bellows extension system via the cords and the lateral metal pantographs opens smoothly with a snap and locks into working position without hesitations or structural looseness.

Aesthetics: Good overall condition, as clearly documented by the photographs. The camera body retains its original black faux-leather coating with the celebratory “Jubilette” logo impressed in relief on the upper front, still clearly legible. The black metal trim and chromed components show the normal signs of age and use, with a light and beautiful superficial vintage patina that enhances its historical authenticity. The rigid brown leather case shows the classic era abrasions and storage marks from decades past, preserving excellent sturdiness.
