ROSENTHAL Classic Rose “Romance” Björn Wiinblad – complete 7 pcs – vintage porcelain, gilt decorations
For sale is a distinctive 7-piece set of original Rosenthal porcelain, the “Romance” shape, designed by Björn Wiinblad.
The set is made in the series’ characteristic white porcelain with a raised, relief ornament and decorative gilt. The whimsical shapes and the figurative vase with a face are very recognizable from Wiinblad’s work.
The offered set includes 7 pieces:
- 2 porcelain vases/decorative vessels,
- 1 porcelain box/cetit box with lid,
- 4 porcelain candlesticks/trays.
I am selling the whole as a complete set.
SIGNATURES
The pieces bear the original Rosenthal / Classic Rose signatures, visible in the photos.
The “Romance” shape was designed by Danish artist and designer Björn Wiinblad (1918–2006). Rosenthal produced this distinctive shape with relief decoration and gold accents in various variants. Contemporary collection listings also confirm the Romance shape under the designation Rosenthal Group Germany – Classic Rose.

A LITTLE HISTORY
Rosenthal is one of the best-known German porcelain makers. The collaboration with Björn Wiinblad produced some of the brand’s most distinctive designs.
The Romance shape is characterized by a relief texture of white porcelain, whimsical silhouettes, and decorative gilding. It exemplifies a design approach where porcelain is not only a utilitarian object but also a decorative element and a collectible piece of 20th-century design.
