Classic Marble Bust after Francesco Laurana – Renaissance Noblewoman
A particularly elegant, hand-carved marble bust of a noblewoman from the Italian Renaissance, made after the famous model of the 15th-century sculptor Francesco Laurana (known for his portraits of, among others, Beatrice Portinari and Laura).
The bust is carved from a heavy, dark natural stone with a beautiful, subtly veined pattern and a matte, refined finish. The lady is characterized by her serene, restrained facial expression, downcast eyes, and the Renaissance-typical hairstyle with a braided headband and graceful drapery folds. It sits on a turned marble base.
