The Musical Fidelity X-Cans is a compact and highly regarded Class A tube headphone amplifier, originally introduced in the late 1990s. Designed for serious headphone listening, the X-Cans combines the musical character of valve amplification with Musical Fidelity’s solid-state Class A output stage.
The original X-Cans uses a valve-based input stage together with a Class A transistor output stage, providing a smooth, detailed and dynamic presentation. Its compact aluminium enclosure and distinctive styling make it an excellent addition to a high-end headphone system or vintage hi-fi setup. The original X-Cans was introduced around 1997–1998 and developed a strong reputation among headphone enthusiasts.
To deliver this product properly, it is carefully packed in very strong boxes, thereby wrapped in bubble wrap with lots of padding.
